Become a funding partner
Our work only exists because of grant funding and donations, so we’re always excited to hear from individuals or organisations who wish to support this vital work in Birmingham. We use our money to plant new trees, maintain and water newly planted trees, to pay our staff team and to fund the Charity’s core costs. Funding partners support Birmingham communities to plant trees in their neighbourhoods that can have an enormous impact on health and well-being, whilst also increasing local biodiversity and mitigating against high levels of air pollution, flood risk and urban heat island effects. Another year of TreePeople
Our Impact with support from The National Lottery Community Fund
We’re delighted to reflect on a truly impactful year for us, made possible by the generosity of The National Lottery Community Fund, a major funding partner of ours.
Their support has been used to help us grow our engagement with local communities across Birmingham and develop our work.
Our end of year report below, highlights how this funding has helped us collectively work with communities to make decisions about tree planting in their neighborhoods, make steps towards greater tree equity, and harness the power of trees & tree care to improve outcomes for health and wellbeing.
The funding also allowed us to offer learning opportunities for TreePeople volunteers through training workshops and courses, further our digital engagement via the TreePlotter map, and enabled the charity’s transition to an employee-led model by funding three part-time roles.
Our efforts have seen us:
- Plant over 150 large trees since Sept 2024, enhancing local biodiversity and green spaces
- Engage more than 750 people in urban forestry
- Deliver training for over 150 people to help them nurture and protect their local environment
From poetry-filled Tree Trails to hands-on tree planting sessions, what we’ve learnt and our ambitions for the future – you can read more about the impact of The National Lottery Community Fund in our report below.
